What is the difference between filler, color and functional masterbatch?

Filler masterbatch introduces mineral content through a polymer carrier. Color masterbatch delivers black, white or color pigments. Functional masterbatch delivers an additive function. Each type must be matched to the base polymer, process and finished-product requirement.

Why does the carrier resin matter?

The carrier influences compatibility, dispersion, processing behaviour and the distribution of the mineral, pigment or additive. A masterbatch should not be selected only by its active content or price.

What should be provided for a color-masterbatch enquiry?

Provide the polymer, processing method, product thickness, target shade, opacity or hiding requirement, surface finish, processing temperature and an approved reference such as a physical sample, RAL, Pantone or other agreed color standard.

Can the same masterbatch be used in film, extrusion and injection molding?
